Experience a good old-fashioned Christmas when the museum opens its doors to houses, workshops and stores.
Visit the bakery and bring home some freshly baked Christmas cookies.
At the Hjerl Hede open-air museum, many traditions are kept alive. You can hitch a ride with the horse-drawn carriage, take a guided tour of the museum or try the steam train that will take you out to Flyndersø.
Experience old-fashioned slaughtering of pigs and lambs every day for all three weekends.
At the grocery store, you can buy cheese and sweets for the Christmas celebration and – as something new – we now offer bitter orange peel and candied lemon peel for your Christmas baking.
The Christmas preparations are in full swing in the living rooms and workshops.
And in the kitchens, everyone is preparing flesh for Christmas.
The museum shop bids welcome inside, offering Christmas goods and decorations – buy your Christmas presents here, or how about a schnapps and Christmas mustard for the Christmas luncheon.
The first and last weekend will feature a big Christmas market in the visitors’ center.
